About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Lead to join our team at Samuel, Son & Co. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical design of projects from start to finish, providing technical leadership and mentoring to team members, and fostering creativity and resourcefulness in all interactions with customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical design of projects, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to customer specifications
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members, promoting a culture of collaboration and innovation
  • Assess customer requirements and develop comprehensive conceptual designs, including supporting design calculations and schematics
  • Collaborate with project management to ensure seamless project execution and timely updates to the schedule
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local, national, and international standards

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in mechanical engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in industrial automation
  • Proficiency in Solidworks and AutoCAD, with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, with excellent interpersonal and time management skills
