About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Lead to join our team at Samuel, Son & Co. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical design of projects from start to finish, providing technical leadership and mentoring to team members, and fostering creativity and resourcefulness in all interactions with customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical design of projects, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to customer specifications
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members, promoting a culture of collaboration and innovation
  • Assess customer requirements and develop comprehensive conceptual designs, including supporting design calculations and schematics
  • Collaborate with project management to ensure timely updates and seamless project execution
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in mechanical engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in industrial automation, with proficiency in Solidworks and AutoCAD
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment
