Senior Business Development Representative, Environmental

The Senior Business Development Representative, Environmental will play a key role in expanding ALS's market position in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and along the Highway 401 corridor. This involves fostering existing relationships with key clients and building new relationships with industry stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Obtain and assess market intelligence to inform business development strategies
- Conduct market assessments to develop innovative solutions for clients
- Expand existing relationships across multiple industries
- Contribute to and potentially lead projects related to national account development
- Report on new opportunities and recommend win strategies
- Address account-related issues with urgency
- Attend and speak at trade shows, networking events, and industry events
- Work with management or lead responses to RFPs
- Negotiate contracts and agreements, and potentially coach/mentor staff on commercial aspects
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced business development professional with a strong background in the environmental sector. The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong business development skills and the ability to build relationships
- High-level business acumen, including finance and contracts
- Experience in commercial negotiation and closing deals
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Highly motivated, an independent thinker, and able to work as part of a team
- Strong presentation skills in medium to large group settings
- Strong skills in grasping technical concepts
- Demonstrated judgment, creativity, integrity, and problem-solving ability
- A strong orientation towards service quality, technical innovation, and continuous improvement
- Experience with CRM software
- Able to effectively manage change in a dynamic environment and balance multiple priorities
- Ability to evaluate and recommend improvements to business processes
- Ability to effectively handle escalations and time-critical issues
We are seeking a candidate with:
- 10 years of experience in a competitive and fast-paced environment
- 10 years of experience in client service, business development, and/or sales roles
- A science background with 10 years of experience in the environmental sector
- An existing industry network may be a differentiator
