Executive Chef

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our culinary team at Jukai Japanese & Thai. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic kitchen environment, where creativity and attention to detail are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:- Determine food portion sizes and costs, ensuring optimal profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Plan menus and estimate food requirements, taking into account seasonal availability and menu rotation.
- Requisition high-quality ingredients and supplies, maintaining strong relationships with local vendors.
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes, adhering to strict quality control standards.
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling techniques, emphasizing safety protocols and efficiency.
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Manage inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, minimizing waste and optimizing resources.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced restaurant or cafeteria setting.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, including sushi preparation techniques and ingredients.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and motivate staff.
- Familiarity with kitchen operations and inventory management systems.
- Certification in food safety and handling, such as HACCP or ServSafe.
We offer a competitive salary of $40,000 per year, based on experience, plus benefits package including health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development.
