Job Title: Technical Translator-Editor

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Translator-Editor to join our team at the National Research Council Canada. As a Technical Translator-Editor, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Construction Research Centre by translating and editing technical documents from English to French.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in translation and editing, with a focus on technical and legal documents. You will be responsible for producing high-quality translations and editing contract translations, as well as performing other duties as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate technical and legal documents from English to French
  • Edit contract translations and other documents as required
  • Work collaboratively with a team of editors, translators, and IT specialists
  • Meet tight deadlines and deliver high-quality work
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree in Translation (from English to French)
  • Recent experience (at least one year in the last five years) in translation of technical or legal documents from English to French
  • Recent experience (at least one year in the last five years) in French editing of technical or legal documents
  • Recent experience (at least one year in the last five years) in the use of terminology banks and computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools
