About Us

Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation is a network of community-based support centres providing programs that meet the emotional, practical, physical, informational, and functional needs of individuals and families living with cancer.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Centre Director to manage our Westerkirk House location in Toronto. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the delivery of programming at Wellspring Westerkirk House.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Delivery Management: On-site management of the delivery of programming operating at Wellspring Westerkirk House.
  • Volunteer Resource Management: Management of local volunteer resources, including recruitment, training, scheduling, mentoring, succession planning, leadership, support and recognition.
  • Customer Support: Provision of front-line support for people with cancer and their loved ones, including customer service, program referrals, coordination of services, etc.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Building: Stakeholder relationship building, including outreach to, and maintenance of, strong relationships with professionals working with hospitals and community groups.
  • Culture of Philanthropy: Participation in, and encouragement of, Wellspring's growing culture of philanthropy.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least 5 years of related experience, which includes motivating and supervising volunteers, and providing support to people living with health concerns.
  • Communication Skills: Very strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Organizational Capability: A high degree of organizational capability, with good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Cancer Awareness: An understanding of the impact of cancer on individuals and families.
  • Adaptability: The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Languages: Fluency in English.
  • Proficiency in Software: A high degree of proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook, and a good comfort level with tasks associated with program and volunteer administration.

Salary Information

The estimated salary range for this position is between $65,000 to $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
