About the Opportunity

As a member of our primary health care team, you will provide expert knowledge and skills on a wide range of issues from advocacy to assessment to case management. You will work collaboratively with others to increase community capacity as an educator, researcher and clinical practitioner. These services are provided within a holistic, client/family centred care framework.

You will provide health assessment, interventions and appropriate follow up in accordance with acts, regulations, policies, standards, guidelines, mission and objectives of the Registered Dietitians of Canada, the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association, the Department of Health and Wellness - Province of Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Health Authority.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition at a recognized university, a dietetic internship and at least one year of related experience. Current membership in the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association is required, as well as annual continuing education to maintain Nova Scotia license. Two years clinical experience is preferred, as is membership in Dietitians of Canada. Current CPR/BLS certification is also required.

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work well independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment. They will also have the ability to work collaboratively with others to increase community capacity as an educator, researcher and clinical practitioner.

Hours

This is a permanent part-time position, with 75 hours bi-weekly. Shifts include days, nights and weekends, and travel between the two sites may be required.

Compensation and Incentives

The hourly rate for this position is $32.94 - $43.42. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
