Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead the safe and efficient operation of our oil plant and packaging plant. The successful candidate will work closely with key stakeholders to ensure the goals of operation are met, including Maintenance, Warehouse / Logistics, and Quality.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Leadership
  • Ensure a safe environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Lead and manage the production facility in all aspects from processing raw materials to finished packaging.
  • Create and maintain a culture of constructive, positive, continuous improvement, and excellence within the department.
  • Lead process development and optimization.
  • Interact in a positive and constructive manner with all cross-functional departments and teams.
Performance Management
  • In alignment with Bioriginal policies, set clear expectations for all departments and staff, including setting KPIs where appropriate (i.e., attendance, throughput, equipment effectiveness, etc.).
  • Provide coaching to all levels of staff as required.
  • Set a culture of accountability and hold others accountable as required.
  • Ensure appropriate performance management practices are occurring (i.e., informal feedback, position agreements, performance appraisals, etc.).
  • Propose and manage capital projects to improve plant performance where applicable.
  • Manage costs to ensure annual budgets are met.
  • Generate and communicate proactive measures to improve plant safety performance.
  • Work with the Quality Control department to lead efforts and programs to ensure the production of the highest quality products possible.

Requirements

  1. 8-10 years of progressive leadership experience within a manufacturing environment, with a preference for experience within nutritional products or food manufacturing.
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and collaboration skills.
  3. Post-secondary degree in a related field is preferred.
