Produce Department Leader

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Produce Department Leader to oversee the setup, maintenance, and daily operations of our produce department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail sales, customer service, product quality, and natural wellness.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere for customers, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service and utilizing suggestive selling techniques.
- Perform receiving duties, including verifying orders against invoices, reporting shortages, breaking down loads, and dating product. Ensure accurate pricing and signage of products.
- Prepare, trim, cut, wrap, and display produce while preventing damage, shrinkage, and spoilage. Rotate and discard outdated or spoiled product to maintain freshness and quality.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the work area, storage area, and selling floor. Maintain a safe and secure work environment.
- Promote a culture of honesty and integrity within the department.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with coworkers and management.
- Demonstrate knowledge of seasonal produce, handling, preparation, and perishability.
- Create visually appealing displays that attract new and current customers.
- Stay up-to-date on seasonality changes and adapt accordingly.
- Contribute to in-store training and development programs.
- A supportive and inclusive work environment.
- Competitive salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
