Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is $25-$35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Wage increases are based on hours worked and meeting expectations in the position. Additionally, eligible team members receive an annual bonus program, comprehensive benefits package, and an employer-matched pension plan.

Job Description

We're seeking a highly skilled Culinary Expert to join our team at the Highwayman Pub in Abbotsford, BC. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you'll be responsible for preparing and cooking meals in a timely manner, following recipes and presentation specifications, and maintaining a clean work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals according to dietary restrictions when requested.
  • Safely and efficiently operate kitchen equipment and appliances.
  • Maintain accurate food inventories and properly store food items at appropriate temperatures.
  • Rotate stock items as per established procedures and restock the kitchen for subsequent shifts.
  • Follow sanitation and food production codes, and contribute to the team's efforts to live the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community, and Excellence.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a full-service restaurant is considered an asset.
  • FOODSAFE Level 1 certification is required.
  • You must have strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures and enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • A team player with strong communication skills is essential, as well as a strong work ethic and ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • MUST be committed to a SAFE working environment and have open availability including day and evening shifts.
