Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Branch Operations Manager to join our team at Talent-icit. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our industrial projects, ensuring the smooth execution of tasks and the safety of our personnel and clients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and direct branch operational activities and fleet maintenance according to business objectives and company policies.
  • Maintain close ties with other business units to ensure good collaboration and coordination to meet business objectives.
  • Ensure regular and thorough client relationship management.
Operations - General Duties
  • Responsible for planning activities assigned by immediate supervisor, including overall work planning (equipment preparation, subcontracting, various purchases, labor distribution, etc.).
  • Ensure that appropriate work methods and applicable procedures are followed; conduct necessary risk assessments for all projects and determine preventive measures, as needed.
  • Makes sure that all equipment is functional and ready for work, assigns personnel based on the nature and duration of the tasks, coordinates with subcontractors, and synchronizes all work with clients.
  • Oversees the execution of various projects on-site to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensures that all operators conduct daily inspections of the equipment and perform any required maintenance.
  • Manages the inventory of lifting equipment accessories effectively.
  • Coordinates various tasks with all involved parties.
  • Responds to service calls or, if necessary, designates someone to handle them.
  • Ensures that preventive and corrective maintenance of cranes and equipment is carried out according to current standards and that they are kept in good working condition.
Business Development and Customer Service
  • Contributes to building, maintaining, and enhancing client relationships by attentively addressing their needs, properly assessing them, and providing the necessary support.
  • Gathers relevant information and recommendations for the execution of specific projects.
  • Regularly visits work sites to identify and assess the needs of current or potential clients.
  • Ensures the appropriate preparation of estimates, bids, and solution proposals; when necessary, he validates them with his superior.
Quality, Health and Safety at Work, and Environment
  • Responsible for adhering to and enforcing all procedures, laws, and regulations related to quality, occupational health and safety (OHS), and the environment, among others.
  • Ensures that OHS briefing sessions are regularly organized with all personnel under his supervision for each project.
  • Through regular presence on-site, he monitors the enforcement of all safety measures, ensuring they are properly documented and managed.
  • Maintains regular communication with staff and clients to promote OHS as a primary company value.
  • Responsible for investigating, analyzing, and documenting all OHS issues under his supervision.
Human Resource Management
  • Trains and supervises employees.
  • Participates in drafting work methods and ensures appropriate task distribution among employees.
  • Takes part in scheduling work hours, including planning vacations and leaves, etc.
  • Ensures that company policies and rules are respected.
  • Fosters teamwork and cooperation among employees.
  • Conducts employee performance evaluations and provides regular feedback.
Recordkeeping, Administration, and Pricing
  • Collaborates with the corporate controller to ensure effective cash management (petty cash, bank deposits, etc.).
  • Ensures pricing is applied diligently and accurately.
  • Produces and/or approves administrative documentation as needed according to company policies (billing, payroll, purchase requests, etc.).
Requirements
  • University or college degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, construction engineering, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a field related to heavy industry or civil construction, as well as in managing or supervising work teams.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and French, both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), effective for both supervision and teamwork, as well as client relations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software.
  • Ability to work under pressure in situations with significant constraints (time, material and human resources, changing weather conditions, etc.).
