Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Educational Program Assistant to join our team at Fairview Junior High. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our educational programs, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to educational programs, including scheduling, record-keeping, and communication with staff and students.
  • Assist with the preparation and implementation of educational programs, including lesson planning and materials preparation.
  • Support the development and maintenance of educational resources, including curriculum development and assessment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and effective educational program.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Related diploma or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution, including a formal practicum placement.

Rate of Pay:

This is a 10-month position with a work schedule in accordance with the school year calendar, which includes time off at Christmas, March Break, and Summer break.

The starting annual salary for a 100% position is $35,817.70, including 4% vacation pay. Rates are based on a five-step scale with step increases occurring annually in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

EPAs are paid every two weeks with the annual salary paid across 12 months (August 1st to July 31st) for working a 10-month school year. The annual salary for term positions less than a school year is pro-rated over the length of the term.

Daily Hours of Work:

50% Position = 3.5 hours (includes one 15-minute paid break)

80% Position = 6.1 hours (includes 1/2 hour unpaid lunch and two 15-minute paid breaks)

100% Position = 7.5 hours (includes 1/2 hour unpaid lunch and two 15-minute paid breaks)
