Job Title: Educational Program Assistant

Join our team at Basinview Drive Community School as an Educational Program Assistant. This is a 10-month position with a work schedule in accordance with the school year calendar.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to support our educational programs. The successful candidate will work closely with our educational team to provide support to students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to students with diverse needs, including those with Down's Syndrome and Autism.
  • Assist with daily routines, such as toileting and personal care.
  • Support students with seizure management and behaviour management.
  • Implement calming strategies and de-escalation techniques.
  • Assist with implementation and tracking of behaviour targets.
Requirements:
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Light lifting (up to 20 pounds) and medium lifting (up to 50 pounds).
  • Trained or willing to be trained in toileting, personal care, seizure management, and behaviour management.
Assets:
  • Experience working with students with Down's Syndrome and Autism.
  • Related diploma or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution.
