Our organization is dedicated to empowering individuals and families to reach their full potential, and we are seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Youth Care Practitioner to join our team.

About the Opportunity

The Elizabeth Road Program is a unique and innovative approach to providing clinical supports for individual youth. Our program provides 24/7 support in a home-like setting, and our team of experienced professionals work alongside youth to promote healthy relationships, self-esteem, and life skills. As a Senior Youth Care Practitioner, you will be responsible for working with youth to develop and implement individualized plans, providing mental health support and assessment, and collaborating with other teams and stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for our youth.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct mental health assessments and provide individualized support to youth
  • Develop and implement individualized plans in collaboration with the Program Manager and other stakeholders
  • Provide crisis support and intervention as needed
  • Perform general facility tasks to ensure the operation of the program
  • Attend staff meetings and training as required
  • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for our youth
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated competencies in the Seven Sacred Teachings: Love, Respect, Courage, Honesty, Wisdom, and Humility & Truth
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant field of study (psychology, social work, social sciences)
  • Experience working with families and youth in a supportive manner
  • Experience working with youth with mental health diagnoses and substance use issues
  • Knowledge of trauma and resilience-informed care
  • Strong counseling skills and experience in relational care
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C certification
  • ASIST Training and De-escalation training
  • Certification in DLE (The Purposeful use of Daily Life Events) or TCS (Therapeutic Crisis Solutions)
  • Mental Health First Aid & Safe Talk Training
  • The Link's Commit 2 Kids Training
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, clear Child and Adult Abuse Registry Checks with acceptable Prior Contact Check all completed within the last 3 months
  • A valid driver's license, driver's abstract, and access to a vehicle for work use
