Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Specialist to join our team at King Hopkins Pet Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering staff consultation and grievance procedures, coordinating HR department activities, and evaluating daily operations. This is a permanent position with a 40-hour workweek.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer staff consultation and grievance procedures
  • Coordinate HR department activities to meet organizational goals
  • Evaluate daily operations and implement improvements
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate human resources policies and programs
  • Train staff and advise managers and employees on HR policies and procedures
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures
  • Mediate labour disputes and grievances
  • Oversee occupation classification and rating
  • Research and prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions, and salary scales
  • Administer benefit employment equity and other HR programs
  • Manage contracts and employee performance and appraisal programs
  • Develop and implement training and development strategies
  • Oversee employee data analysis and information
  • Research employee benefits and health and safety practices and recommend changes
  • Develop communication strategies and prepare reports
  • Respond to employee questions and complaints
  • Hire, train, and supervise staff
  • Negotiate collective agreements on behalf of employers or workers
  • Recruit and hire staff
  • Propose improvements to methods, systems, and procedures
Requirements
