Electrical Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Operations Manager to oversee the safe and efficient delivery of power to our Smelter operations in the Middle East.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling the Area Operations to ensure a smooth, uninterrupted power supply. This includes overseeing the complete operations and maintenance of the smelting area, planning work schedules, and leading the Area maintenance function.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with extensive experience in high, medium, and low voltage systems, as well as rectifiers. They will also possess strong managerial experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and control the Area Operations to safely deliver a smooth, uninterrupted power supply.
  • Oversee the complete operations and maintenance of the smelting area.
  • Plan the Area work schedules and re-plan to address contingencies.
  • Lead the Area maintenance function, including predictive, preventative maintenance, and break-down repairs.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and develop EHS systems.
  • Make decisions about safety and operational priorities.
  • Lead teams to execute programs to reduce resource usage and enhance environmental outcomes.
  • Apply innovation and leadership skills to lead and deliver continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and control maintenance expenses and identify ways to decrease costs.
  • Analyze, monitor, and control expenditure to ensure the Area achieves its financial target.
  • Contribute to the development of Departmental policy and strategy.
  • Collaborate with Superintendents across the Department and Plant to optimize Smelter outcomes.
  • Lead the Area teams to safely deliver production targets and maximize profits.
  • Develop teams to deliver improvement in workforce capability and sustained levels of performance.
  • Handle Smelter Blackouts, Major/Critical equipment faulting/tripping, Hazardous Energy Control, Complex Electrical Design Calculations, Project Management, and provide Plant technical support.
