Senior Linux Gaming Technical Lead

Canonical, a pioneer of global distributed collaboration, is seeking an experienced Senior Linux Gaming Technical Lead to join their team. With over 1100 colleagues in 75+ countries and a focus on open-source software, this role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology.
Job OverviewThis exciting position involves leading a team to optimize and expand the Ubuntu gaming experience, focusing on the Steam Snap. The ideal candidate will have exceptional project management skills, encompassing risk assessment and resource allocation.
The Role Entails- Leading your team in delivering high-quality software solutions, prioritizing performance, quality, and modern design principles.
- Collaborating with upstream projects like Proton and partners like Unity to enhance Ubuntu's gaming capabilities.
- Driving performance improvements across a wide range of hardware.
- Engaging actively with the open source and gaming community to gather feedback and collaborate on improvements.
- An undergraduate degree in a technical subject or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity and experience with the Linux graphics stack spanning user-space components to low-level kernel drivers.
- Exceptional technical leadership skills, demonstrated by your ability to manage multi-cycle improvements.
We offer a competitive salary, estimated at $140,000 - $160,000 per annum, based on location and experience. In addition to base pay, we provide a performance-driven annual bonus or commission. Our compensation package also includes annual holiday leave and flexible working arrangements.
