Job Description

As a Specialized Infusion Nurse, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and reviewing individualized nursing care plans for each patient
  • Conducting patient health assessments and medication administration teaching
  • Obtaining IV access through peripheral IV initiation or central line access (PICC, IVAD, etc.)
  • Preparing and administering various specialized intravenous or injectable pharmacological treatments
  • Providing patient-centered care according to established care plans or medical directives
  • Maintaining role-related, medication, and pharmacovigilance training as required
  • Documenting patient conditions and reporting adverse events as per Pharmacovigilance requirements

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited nursing education program
  • Current registration and good standing with the provincial nursing regulatory body
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification for clinic roles
  • Chemotherapy – Biotherapy course completion (an asset)

Experience

Prior experience in acute care and/or administering specialty pharmaceuticals is essential, with critical care (e.g., ER or ICU), infusion clinic, or oncology experience being highly preferred.
