Your Role:

The Product Management team at Global Relay is responsible for executing product strategy, prioritizing and aligning roadmaps, and researching and defining enhancements and upgrades to our services. We are seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager to assume ownership of specific components/ features of our Common Platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triage incoming tickets and assign them to the correct owner
  • Follow up on project status, stories, tasks, dependencies, and risks
  • Collaborate with and share status reports with the Product and DevOps Manager
  • Address impediments by connecting appropriate stakeholders
  • Coordinate meetings with external vendors
  • Assist with generating reports, Wiki pages, and other artifacts that provide transparency into project status
  • Owning the up and down responsibility for the delivery of their component/feature
  • Collaborate with senior product management, sales, support, clients, and other TPMs to produce and manage their component's backlog and contribute to the product roadmap
  • Translate product roadmap initiatives and feature requests into models, workflow diagrams, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and other suitable artifacts
  • Collaborate with other TPMs, Architects, UI/UX, and Team Leads to drive requirements through the design phase
  • Identify and coordinate cross-component dependencies throughout the development process
  • Work with Product Management, Development, and other departments to actively remove obstacles blocking progress and ensure the program is within schedule
  • Prioritize and groom their team's backlog
  • Attend daily stand-ups with their Product Manager and other TPMs in their product team
  • Attend daily stand-ups, grooming, sprint planning, demos, retrospectives, and other team meetings with their Agile team(s)
  • Share Scrum Mastering duties with other members of their team
  • Create work estimates, track progress, and report status in the form of burn-up/down charts and dashboards
  • Support Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Provisioning, Professional Services, Technical Documentation, Training, and Technical Support throughout the release process with training, documentation, announcements, and other release activities
  • Understand the design, business logic, and technical architecture of their platform components and how those components interact with the rest of the platform
  • Serve as the primary product expert (functional, not technical) for the components for which they are responsible

About You:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a project manager or project co-coordinator
  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
  • Adaptability to working with multiple teams on projects with varying degrees of flexibility/rigidity at different points in the development cycle
  • Ability to understand technical as well as business requirements and accurately capture technical notes and use them to update work tickets
  • Demonstrate a history of being able to work effectively with groups with different levels of technical and process experience
  • Ability to coordinate multiple inter-related projects

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience as a software developer/engineer
  • Working knowledge of Elastic Search, Kibana, Hadoop, and big data concepts
  • Experience working with reporting tools
  • Experience with a SaaS, messaging, or enterprise software company
  • Experience delivering projects using Java, open source, big data technologies (distributed storage, computation, search, queue, etc.)
  • Experience driving cross-team initiatives and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization
  • Strong requirement elicitation, analysis, domain modeling, use case modeling, workflow design, and documentation skills
  • Experience planning, monitoring, and reporting on project status for multiple initiatives/teams
