The Opportunity:

Emera Inc is seeking a Senior Manager, DEI to drive positive change and embed diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout our business.

As a key member of our Corporate Human Resources team, you will assist the Director, DEI in evaluating opportunities, evolving processes, policies, and practices to create a more inclusive workplace.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the DEI roadmap, leveraging best practices, trends, and insights to drive organizational change.
  • Partner with Human Resource peers to embed DEI through all aspects of our people strategy.
  • Participate in the Global DEI council and corporate DEI network to stay informed and share best practices.
  • Design and coordinate opportunities to celebrate and learn more about diversity, fostering a culture of psychological safety.
  • Build internal and external relationships to champion a culture of inclusion.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7 years of HR or related experience, with recent experience working in the area of DEI.
  • Demonstrable cross-cultural awareness and post-secondary education in a related field.
  • Experience in developing and promoting DEI strategic plans and processes across a diverse employee population.
  • Proven ability to create and implement organizational strategic plans, with a focus on process improvements.
  • Knowledge of laws and policies affecting marginalized groups, and ability to integrate these perspectives into DEI programs.
