About the Role:

Trotman Auto Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Financial Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing all accounting and payroll operations within the dealership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all accounting and payroll operations, including generating regular financial reports and handling assorted general ledger transactions.
  • Oversee the maintenance of employee benefits for dealership staff and administer the payroll process in a manner that aligns with Corporate and Legal best practices.
  • Prepare dealership financial statements for submission to manufacturer and bank, and prepare monthly reconciliations for dealership financial statements.
  • Process new employees and departures into both dealership and payroll software applications, and manage employee files.
  • Prepare warranty reconciliations, reconcile manufacturer statements, inventory, service contracts, and vehicle dealer reserves.
  • Prepare and reconcile hourly payroll for dealerships, and prepare and reconcile sales commissions for dealership.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processed by AP/AR personnel, and enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a Controller within a Canadian Automotive Dealership or similar industry operation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy, excellent organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Must maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality, and ability to effectively respond to and meet the needs of a diverse client base.
  • Strong communication skills, and effective time management skills, with proficiency in MS Office applications and Outlook.
  • PBS experience is an asset.
