About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Hazardous Materials Professional to join our team in Calgary or Edmonton. The successful candidate will provide hazardous materials assessment and abatement/remediation services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Visually assess buildings for various hazardous materials, including asbestos, lead, PCBs, mercury components, ozone-depleting substances, and suspect visible microbial growth
  • Collect bulk samples of suspect hazardous materials for laboratory analysis
  • Develop hazardous materials building materials assessment reports
  • Create hazardous materials management plans, safe work procedures, abatement specifications, and exposure control plans
  • Conduct hazardous materials condition assessments and abatement/remediation inspections, and prepare daily reports/project completion reports
Requirements
  • OHS or Environmental diploma/certificate/degree an asset
  • 3-8 years' experience in health and safety/hazardous materials required
  • Hazardous materials training, including WorkSafeBC Level S Surveyor Safety Training Certificate
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt and work in a team environment
  • Flexibility with respect to remote work and travel
