As a key member of our Occupational Health and Safety group, you will be responsible for providing hazardous materials assessment and abatement/remediation services to our clients.brbrbKey Responsibilities:/bbrbr- Visually assess buildings for various hazardous materials, including asbestos, lead, PCBs, mercury components, ozone-depleting substances, and suspect visible microbial growth.br- Collect bulk samples of suspect hazardous materials for laboratory analysis.br- Prepare hazardous materials building materials assessment reports.br- Develop hazardous materials management plans, safe work procedures, abatement specifications, and exposure control plans.br- Conduct hazardous materials condition assessments.br- Conduct hazardous material abatement/remediation inspections and air monitoring, and prepare daily reports/project completion reports.br- Assist with completion of other occupational hygiene projects under the supervision and direction of a Certified Industrial Hygienist.brbrbRequirements:/bbrbr- Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental diploma/certificate/degree an asset.br- 3 to 8 years' experience in health and safety/hazardous materials required.br- Hazardous materials training. WorkSafeBC Level S Surveyor Safety Training Certificate required.br- Other hazardous materials training (e.g., AHERA Building Inspector Course, Alberta Asbestos Worker Course, Hazardous Materials Technician Course, Lead Inspector and Risk Assessor Course, Mould Assessment and Remediation Course, etc.) an asset.br- Experience in the consulting industry an asset.br- Unrestricted Class 5 Driver's License valid in British Columbia, personal vehicle, and a good driving record (drivers abstract required).br- Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).br- Enthusiasm and commitment to technical excellence.br- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.br- Ability to adapt and work in a team environment as well as independently.br- Flexibility with respect to remote work and travel.br- Willing and able to work rotational shifts, including being away from home for up to two weeks at a time.brbrbAbout WSP Canada:/bbrbrWSP Canada is one of the world's leading professional services firms.
