Job Overview

We are seeking an Environmental Remediation Specialist to join our team at WSP Canada. As a key member of our Occupational Hygiene and Safety Group, you will be responsible for providing hazardous materials assessment and abatement/remediation services to our clients.

About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced professional in health and safety/hazardous materials to work with a leading consulting firm. You will have the chance to apply your skills and knowledge in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the success of our clients.

Your Responsibilities

  • Visually assess buildings for various hazardous materials, collect bulk samples, and prepare reports.
  • Develop hazardous materials management plans, safe work procedures, abatement specifications, and exposure control plans.
  • Conduct hazardous materials condition assessments and abatement/remediation inspections, and provide daily reports/project completion reports.
  • Assist with completion of other occupational hygiene projects under the supervision of a Certified Industrial Hygienist.

Requirements

  • OHS or Environmental diploma/degree (asset)
  • 3-8 years' experience in health and safety/hazardous materials required
  • Hazardous materials training (e.g., WorkSafeBC Level S Surveyor Safety Training Certificate) and a valid BC driver's license required
  • Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office) and ability to work independently/team environment
