We are seeking a highly skilled Metallurgy Supervisor to join our team at SSR Mining's Seabee Gold Operation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of the Assay Laboratory and Metallurgy, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of assay samples and mill performance.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will have a strong background in metallurgy and process engineering, with a minimum of 10 years' experience in a gold processing plant. You will be responsible for leading and managing the Assay team, developing and implementing process optimization strategies, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Assay team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of assay samples and mill performance.
- Develop and implement process optimization strategies to improve recovery rates and reduce operational costs.
- Collaborate with the Superintendent and Supervisors to monitor plant parameters, identify deviations, and suggest optimization solutions.
- Conduct various laboratory tests, including carbon attrition and activity, bottle roll cyanidation, diagnostic leach, flocculation, and GRG tests, to optimize plant performance.
- Plan, coordinate, and support mill sampling campaigns for accurate data collection and analysis.
- Conduct metallurgical accounting to ensure accurate tracking of materials and processes.
- Manage reagent inventory and ensure adequate supply levels.
- Provide support for refinery tasks when necessary.
- Analyze data and prepare technical documentation to support operational decisions.
- Foster a strong safety culture by engaging and empowering team members.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Process/Metallurgical/Chemical/Materials Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer designation is an asset.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in a gold processing plant.
- Minimum 5 years of direct supervisory responsibilities.
Working Conditions:
This position has a schedule of 14 days on, 14 days off at our remote camp, with pick-up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, and La Ronge.
