Metallurgy Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Metallurgy Supervisor to join our team at SSR Mining's Seabee Gold Operation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of the Assay Laboratory and Metallurgy, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of assay samples and mill performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Assay team, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest level of performance and productivity.
- Develop and implement industry-standard assay procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Coordinate with mill, geological, and mining departments to ensure seamless sample collection and analysis, meeting established turnaround timelines.
- Direct and coordinate with mill maintenance and external vendors to develop and implement PM schedules for lab equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze data to identify areas for improvement, implementing process optimization strategies to enhance recovery rates and reduce operational costs.
- Conduct various laboratory tests, including carbon attrition and activity, bottle roll cyanidation, diagnostic leach, flocculation, and GRG tests, to optimize plant performance.
- Plan, coordinate, and support mill sampling campaigns for accurate data collection and analysis.
- Maintain accurate tracking of materials and processes, ensuring metallurgical accounting is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Manage reagent inventory, ensuring adequate supply levels and minimizing waste.
- Provide technical documentation to support operational decisions, utilizing operational excellence methodologies to uphold high-quality standards.
- Foster a strong safety culture, engaging and empowering team members to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Process/Metallurgical/Chemical/Materials Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.) is an asset.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Metallurgy, with a minimum of 5 years of direct supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong expertise in mineral processing and extraction, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Effective organizational, time management, and analytical skills, with proficiency in computer applications and metallurgical software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with the utmost professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
Working Conditions:
This position has a schedule of 14 days on, 14 days off at our remote camp, with pick-up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, and La Ronge.
