Job Overview:

McMaster University's Faculty of Health Sciences is seeking a seasoned Senior Human Resources Strategic Partner to provide a full range of Human Resources management and consultative advice/counsel to designated internal client groups within the Faculty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Selection: Provide solutions and recommendations on recruitment strategies, employee onboarding, and talent acquisition processes.
  • Employee and Labour Relations: Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote a positive and inclusive work environment, address employee concerns, and resolve conflicts.
  • Performance Management: Design and implement performance management systems, provide coaching and development opportunities, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Organizational Development: Analyze business needs and develop strategic plans to improve organizational effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Develop and implement compensation and benefits programs that attract, retain, and motivate top talent.
  • Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge, and promote a culture of continuous learning.
  • Workforce Planning: Analyze workforce trends, develop strategic plans to address future talent needs, and implement succession planning initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Education: University degree in Business, Psychology, or related field with a focus in Human Resources/Labour Relations.
  • Experience: Proven track record as a senior HR business partner, with in-depth knowledge of and experience with a broad range of human resource services.
  • Skills: Deep functional knowledge and broad experience in all areas of human resources policies, practices, processes, and legislation; excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
