We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team at Kiewit. As a key member of our HR Operations team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of HR-related strategies and ensuring their effective implementation and execution.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development of HR-related strategies and ensure their implementation and execution.
- Maintain knowledge of progressive HR practices, trends, and data points to drive enhancements.
- Serve as a change agent by influencing key stakeholders in support of organizational effectiveness.
- Support the development of succession plans and skills gap analysis, ensuring that they are consistently reviewed and that effective actions are in place.
- Ensure coaching, feedback, and performance systems are in place to maximize workforce productivity.
- Lead the implementation of programs to drive development, employee engagement, and retention.
- Serve as an advisor to leadership teams by providing insights, consultation, and support.
- Act as a liaison with HR Shared Services to ensure the delivery of support to exceed internal client needs.
- Provide feedback to influence the continuous improvement of HR services and processes.
- Consult with managers on effective staff assignments and strategy.
- Lead the succession planning process by providing sound insight, support, and identifying additional learning and development trends based on future workforce needs.
- Serve as a liaison for high-risk terminations or separations of employees.
- Support the implementation of standard communications, processes, and reporting for HR annual cycle activities.
- Assist the HRBP to drive the execution of employee performance programs and expectations to maximize workforce productivity.
- Support the execution of performance improvement plans and provide consultation as necessary.
- Drive the execution of leadership development programs and expectations to maximize workforce productivity.
- Monitor workforce productivity, retention, and engagement for trends and changes that require intervention.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of HR generalist experience in the Canadian or U.S. market.
- Proficient with reporting and using Excel.
- Must have experience performing similar duties as outlined above, with the ability to strike a balance between tactical support, strategic HR program execution, and process innovation.
- Ability to communicate and influence individuals and groups to gain buy-in and acceptance of new ideas and approaches.
- Proven ability to take initiative and build strong and productive personal relationships, with business acumen, analytical skills, and high attention to detail.
- Ability to travel overnight throughout North America up to 20% of the time.
- Interest and ability to relocate for future growth opportunities in HR for career trajectory is highly desirable.
- Regular, reliable attendance.
- Work productively and meet deadlines timely.
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
- Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
- Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
