We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at BC Cancer. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing holistic nursing care to oncology patients, including assessment, intervention, symptom management, treatment coordination, and education.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including patient assessment, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and delivering treatment as per prescribed protocols.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans and modify them as needed.
- Administer medications, injections, blood products, and IV fluids as required by the care plan, monitoring patient reactions and changes in physical or mental status.
- Maintain accurate patient records, documenting patient information, health care history, nursing assessment, telephone communications, symptom and side effect management, patient and family education, and care evaluations.
- Admit, transfer, or discharge patients according to BC Cancer policies and Centre directives.
- Assist patients in interpreting their care plans, referring them to other healthcare professionals and programs as needed.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff by adhering to emergency procedures and safety policies and standards.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- Current CPR (Level C) certification.
- One (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
