Qualifications and Experience

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced educator to join our team as a French Immersion Teacher. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in teaching French as a second language and have experience working with students in a Grade 5-7 setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students
  • Utilize effective teaching methods and technologies to promote language acquisition and cultural understanding
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver programs that meet the needs of students
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to promote growth and development

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Education Degree with a specialization in French Immersion or a related field
  • Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification in the province of residence
  • Proven experience teaching French as a second language in a Grade 5-7 setting
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching in a northern community and an understanding of Indigenous cultures
  • Knowledge of second language methodology and technology integration
  • Experience with differentiated instruction and authentic assessment
