Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified French Immersion Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a bilingual educator with a strong background in teaching French as a second language.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach French Immersion classes to students in grades 5-7
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver programs
  • Use technology to enhance teaching and learning
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Education degree with a specialization in French Immersion
  • Valid NWT Teaching Certificate
  • Experience teaching in a northern community and understanding of Indigenous cultures an asset
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching literacy, numeracy, and differentiated instruction
  • Knowledge of second language methodology and authentic assessment
  • Experience integrating spirituality and faith into teaching practices
