Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Barn Worker at HyLife Foods LP. As a Barn Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of our livestock, maintaining a clean and safe working environment, and contributing to the overall success of our farm operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas
  • Develop specific plans to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient use of time
  • Disinfect pens, barns, or poultry houses to maintain a clean and healthy environment
  • Handle animals with care and attention to detail
  • Monitor animal health and report any concerns to management
  • Feed and tend to animals, ensuring their nutritional needs are met
  • Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
  • Maintain quality control and production records
  • Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens to maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Maintain work records and logs to track progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Oversee the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring efficient and safe operations
  • Collect and analyze data and samples to inform decision-making and improve farm operations
  • Document work completed and report any issues or concerns to management
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organized and efficient, with a focus on attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Physically demanding, with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and lifting
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions, including hot, cold, and wet environments
