Job Title: Survey Party Chief

DOF Subsea is a world-class offshore construction support, survey, and IRM contractor.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Survey Party Chief to join our team. As a key member of our survey team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the mobilization of survey equipment and software on vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the checking and testing of survey equipment and software prior to project commencement.
  • Coordinate and manage the mobilization of survey equipment and software on vessels.
  • Develop and implement project procedures and assist in project preparation.
  • Manage project work scope and adhere to contractual aspects of the project offshore.
  • Manage, provide guidance, and supervise the offshore survey team.
  • Ensure the work is performed with adequate equipment and personnel.
  • Ensure all personnel meet company requirements for operational capability, competence, health, and safety.
  • Communicate daily with the Project Manager.
  • Liaise with client representatives and senior vessel/ROV crew.
  • Manage subcontractor's field team.
  • Responsible for carrying out offshore appraisals and encouraging team development.
  • Accountable for delegation of responsibility in accordance with company procedures, when appropriate.
  • Complete daily/end of project reporting.
  • Responsible for offshore QHSE.
  • Implement and maintain survey standards throughout offshore operations.
  • A full appreciation of survey deliverables is required to ensure all data is backed up and submitted to the Project Manager/Onshore team in agreed DOF Subsea formats.
  • Liaise with the Project Manager to ensure a complete understanding of the commercial impact of all decisions made offshore.

Requirements:

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in hydrographic survey or geomatics degree or similar education.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a senior surveyor.
  • Key experience in acting party chief or party chief duties.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages - Word/Excel/PowerPoint and document control systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communicator, reader, and writer.
  • Incident investigation and reporting.
  • Leadership communication.

(Training program can compensate for lack of experience.)
