Job Title: Survey ET/IT Technician

DOF Subsea is a world-class offshore construction support, survey, and IRM contractor. We are seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused individual for the position of Survey Electronics/Information Technology Technician.

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining survey equipment throughout offshore operations, troubleshooting faulty equipment, and providing inventory listings and equipment fault reports. They will also be responsible for the installation and testing of survey equipment and systems, as well as the project maintenance of survey equipment and systems.

The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary education in electronics, IT, hydrographic survey, or geomatics and experience within the oil and gas/renewables industry. They will be proficient in Microsoft Suite and have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain survey equipment throughout offshore operations.
  • Troubleshoot faulty equipment; provide inventory listings, and equipment fault reports.
  • Responsible for the installation and testing of survey equipment and systems, as well as the project maintenance of survey equipment and systems.
  • Manage all survey/ROV interface cables.
  • Notify the Party Chief/Project Manager of any non-serviceable survey equipment.
  • Commission, calibrate, and decommission all survey equipment to the satisfaction of the Offshore Manager/Party Chief.
  • Ensure the safe operation of survey equipment and systems.
  • Accountable for the offshore tracking of project equipment and for the demobilization and shipping of survey equipment.
  • Support the on-line surveyor during operations.
  • Maintain equipment logs and inventories.
  • Prepare and maintain cabling and interface diagrams.
  • Monitor instruction and performance of other junior technicians.
  • Communicate, on a daily basis, with the Party Chief.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in electronics, IT, hydrographic survey, or geomatics.
  • Experience within oil and gas/renewables industry is an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
