We are seeking a highly qualified academic instructor to teach HIS457H1S: The French Revolution and the Napoleonic Empire at the University of Toronto.
About the CourseThis course explores the central themes in the history of the French Revolution, including the causes of the Revolution, the contested efforts to build a new regime, and the legacy of the Revolution today. Students will engage with primary sources, scholarly debates, and historical interpretations to develop a nuanced understanding of this pivotal period in modern European history.
Responsibilities- Course preparation and delivery
- Lecturing and engaging with students
- Assessment and evaluation of student performance
Applicants must have a Master of Arts in History or a related field and demonstrate expertise in the subject area. A PhD in History is preferred, and experience teaching undergraduate courses is essential. The successful candidate will be expected to provide high-quality instruction, assessment, and support to students.
Sessional Lecturer RatesThe rate of pay for Sessional Lecturers at the University of Toronto varies based on qualifications and experience. For this position, the estimated annual salary is approximately $44,000 - $55,000, depending on the appointee's level of seniority.
