Bindery Operator

This role requires a highly skilled individual with technical knowledge of Bindery work within the printing industry. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced Print and Mail Production environment, multitasking and performing a wide variety of tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Operate Baum 20 Pile Feed Folder with right-angle precision.
• Operate Bell & Howell Mailstar 400 Six-station Inserter with accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform all Bindery functions incumbent to Print and Mail Production environments, including coil punching, drilling, scoring, perforating, padding, shrink wrapping, and more.
• Assist in finishing large format jobs, cutting rigid materials, posters, and laminating as needed.
• Set up machines according to job requirements, ensuring accuracy and quality standards are met.
• Identify equipment malfunctions and call for service when required.
• Prepare printed materials for inter-office distribution or Neighborhood mail.
• Prepare addressing files for printing and set up address printers to print envelopes.
• Cut and prepare paper materials for production, returning unused paper to the storeroom.
• Record labor time and material usage accurately.
• Perform backup duties for mail courier drivers as needed, requiring a Full G License.
• Other tasks may be assigned based on organizational needs.
• Post-secondary diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Baum PFF20 Floor Model Folder Operator or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Bell & Howell Mailstar 400 Six-Station Inserter operator or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of Folding, Inserting, and Mail preparation processes and practices.
• Ability to operate small Bindery and mailroom equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with various audiences and using different methods.
• Proficiency in Excel, Streetsweeper, and Rembrandt software is considered an asset.
• Computer skills to maintain records.
• Ability to lift 50lbs and perform manual physical labor, including walking, sorting, and standing for extended periods.
• Experience with Digital Printing and Large Format Printing is considered an asset.
• Possession of a Full G License is required.
Hourly Rate/Salary: $51, $69,067.00
