Journeyman Operator

About the Role:

WestRock is seeking a skilled Journeyman Operator to join our Bindery team on the afternoon shift. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of packaging materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and cross-reference completed jobs, jogged or printed, and share updated information with the Cutter team.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Service department to resolve any order issues.
  • Audit ready-to-go orders to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Prepare orders with shipment dates and sales order numbers, and label boxes for the Shipping department.
  • Work with the Finance team to close out outstanding Work in Progress (WIP).
  • Perform all related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Excel) is considered an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to stand and walk 100% of shift on a concrete floor and lift 40 pounds.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to maintain good attendance.

Shift Schedule:

  • Monday to Thursday: 3:00 PM to 10:30 PM
  • Friday: 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.
