The Government of Alberta invites experienced professionals to apply for the role of Director, Executive Operations within the Department of Health.

Job Overview

This strategic position plays a crucial role in supporting the Associate Deputy Minister and serves as a key liaison to the Minister's Office, Deputy Minister's Office, Executive Council, other ministry Deputy Minister Offices, and ministry staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic advice and consultation to the Associate Deputy Minister on policy development, program management, and operational planning.
  • Manage the delivery of key projects and initiatives, ensuring timely completion and effective coordination with stakeholders.
  • Supervise a team of professionals, promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with other Directors of Executive Operations to ensure alignment on departmental objectives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A university degree in a related field, supplemented by at least 7 years of progressive experience in leadership and policy development.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide informed advice to senior leaders.
  • Experience working in a government setting, with knowledge of policy development cycles, decision-making processes, and legislative procedures.
