Job Title: Manager, Finance

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Finance to join our Private Equity team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fund operations and private reporting requirements, working closely with the Director, Finance to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to investors and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and prepare quarterly financial reports for investors, including financial statements and fund performance tracking
  • Review and prepare public reporting templates in accordance with IFRS
  • Review investor PCAP and available commitment schedules on a quarterly basis
  • Present quarterly results to senior management
  • Work with service providers to ensure accurate and timely information
  • Review valuations of fund investments on a quarterly basis
  • Review accounting packages for individual legal entities, including tax financials
  • Prepare internal and external audit requests and maintain control documentation
  • Review capital calls from and distributions to investors
  • Assist with managing fund operations, including investor queries, forecasting, and compliance
  • Thorough understanding of the legal structure of the funds and related impact on fund flows and consolidation
  • Assist with analysis of complex accounting issues
  • Assist with improvements to the reporting process and coach team members
  • Special projects and ad hoc requests as required

Requirements:

  • University degree
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA/CA preferred)
  • Minimum of five years of progressive work experience in finance and/or accounting functions
  • Experience in private funds and knowledge of the investment management industry, and experience dealing with complex ownership structures would be an asset
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Exemplifies the right motivation by aspiring to achieve collective goals
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment, to adapt quickly and to manage changing priorities
  • Superior communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Strong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with respect to both managing workload and professional development
