Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Employment Counsellor to join our Etobicoke branch. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with community stakeholders, generate referrals, and provide pre-employment support services to clients.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to build strong relationships, and prioritize tasks effectively even in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide face-to-face and virtual pre-employment support, including career counseling, job search training, skill-building, work preparation, and related services outlined in the Employment Action Plan;
  • Guide clients in accessing community resources to enhance job readiness and facilitate referrals as required;
  • Identify and arrange necessary accommodations and resources to help clients sustain employment;
  • Stay informed about current labor market trends and emerging opportunities in local and regional industries.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A proven ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders;
  • Knowledge of local labor market trends and industry developments;
  • Familiarity with the Employment Ontario program and its initiatives.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as access to professional development opportunities.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment that values diversity, inclusivity, and employee well-being.

Estimated Salary: $68,500 (based on national averages)
