We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Communications Manager to join our team at the Province of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications plans to enhance public understanding and confidence in our agency.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement communications strategies to promote public understanding of our agency and its role in the criminal justice system.
- Act as a liaison between our agency and the media, police agencies, and other stakeholders to address incorrect or misleading information.
- Develop and maintain content on our website, including news releases, resources for affected parties, and media information.
- Manage our social media presence and create engaging content to promote our agency's work.
- Assess stakeholder and public reaction to our files and provide advice and assistance to our leadership team.
- Organize and assist with community liaison committees in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
- Contribute to the development of our agency's initiatives and policies.
- Graduate degree in journalism, public relations, electronic and digital media communication, or a closely related field.
- Several years of recent, related work experience.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, build and maintain relationships with police agencies and stakeholders, and identify and take advantage of trends in communications and media.
- Above-average judgment, integrity, tact, and interpersonal skills.
