Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team as a Forensic Psychiatric Nurse Specialist. In this role, you will work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing direct care to patients with complex mental health and substance use needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of their care plans.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that address patients' physical, emotional, and social needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with patients, families, and community resources to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experiences.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
  • At least one year of recent experience working in a forensic or acute psychiatric hospital setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
