We are seeking a highly skilled Nursing Care Specialist to join our team at the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) in Coquitlam, BC.

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with individuals who require specialized mental health and substance use care. As a Nursing Care Specialist, you will provide direct patient care, assess clinical requirements, and develop care plans based on identified needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medication and performing protocols and interventions.
  • Assess clinical requirements and develop care plans based on identified needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and provide support to patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient observations, interventions, and evaluation of nursing care.
Requirements
  • A degree in nursing from an approved school of nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse.
  • One year of recent experience working in a forensic or acute psychiatric hospital setting.
  • Broad knowledge of adult education principles, methods, and tools.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada.
