Job Overview

As a Senior Department Leader in the Operations division at Edward Jones, you will play a critical role in creating a seamless client experience. Your responsibilities will span the entire client lifecycle, from account opening to trade settlement and cash management. You will be the backbone of the branch, supporting all client transactions and processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a high-performing team of up to 60+ professionals, including team leaders, project leaders, risk managers, and technical professionals.
  • Establish and achieve key performance indicators, key goals, and objectives for the department, while mitigating risks and ensuring compliance with regulatory procedures.
  • Develop and implement process efficiencies, leveraging technology and tools to drive innovation and improve client outcomes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, regulators, IS, and external auditors, ensuring seamless interactions and effective communication.
  • Identify and address complex problems, considering upstream and downstream impacts on the department.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a concentration in business, accounting, finance, or management.
  • 8+ years of significant industry and/or Jones functional experience, with 5+ years of management experience in the financial industry.
  • CSC and CPH certifications.
  • Strong understanding of major functions in Canada brokerage Operations, including books and records, trades, packaged products, and cash, securities, and accounts processing.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and mitigate complex risks, including financial, control, service, and regulatory risk.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
