Position Overview

Hawkesbury General Hospital is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic clinical team. As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for assessing and managing adult patients with respiratory conditions, as well as providing education and support to patients and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching and pulmonary education to patients to improve their quality of life
  • Respond to cardiopulmonary crises to restore ventilation and blood circulation
  • Act as a smoking cessation advisor to help patients quit smoking
  • Share your skills and knowledge with students and staff
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement and emergency preparedness
  • Promote health and wellness in the community

Requirements

  • Hold a diploma from an accredited respiratory therapy program and a current General Certificate from the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario
  • Have relevant hospital experience and a strong background in critical care and pulmonary function testing
  • Be up to date with BCLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications, with PALS certification an asset
  • Ability to communicate effectively in French and English
