Position Overview

Hawkesbury General Hospital is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic clinical team. As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for assessing and treating adult patients with respiratory conditions, as well as providing pulmonary education and rehabilitation to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching and education to patients on self-management of respiratory conditions
  • Respond to cardiopulmonary crises and assist in the transport of ill and unstable patients
  • Act as a smoking cessation advisor and provide support to patients trying to quit
  • Share knowledge and skills with students and staff to promote a culture of excellence
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement and emergency preparedness initiatives

Requirements

  • Diploma from an accredited respiratory therapy program and current General Certificate from the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario
  • Relevant hospital experience and critical care skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in French and English
  • Up-to-date certifications in BCLS, ACLS, and NRP
