Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at SKYGRiD. As a key member of our estimating team, you will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates of construction projects, analyzing tenders, and advising on tendering procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed estimates of construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Analyze tenders and recommend award of contracts.
  • Advise on tendering procedures and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Search for bid and proposal opportunities and develop strategies for winning contracts.
  • Conduct financial assessments of contract variations and ensure accurate record keeping.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Lead the estimating team during closings and ensure accurate and timely completion of projects.
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in the Canadian market.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and construction practices.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong ability to use on-screen takeoff and Bluebeam software.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD architecture and Revit is an asset.
  • Ability to understand agreements and RFPs.
  • WHIMIS and fall arrest protection certification.
