We are seeking a skilled Construction Cost Estimator to join our team at Peak Construction Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and maintaining a directory of supplies and trade contractors, as well as reading and interpreting blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Directory Management: Prepare and maintain a comprehensive directory of supplies and trade contractors.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate cost estimates.
- Estimating: Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of construction costs, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Project Management: Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost estimates and project timelines.
- Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
- Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
- Computer and Technology Skills: Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word.
- Industry Experience: Commercial and/or industrial construction experience.
- Estimating Experience: Experience with project size estimating, specifically in the range of $500,001 to $1,500,000.
- Health Benefits: Comprehensive dental plan, health care plan, and paramedical services coverage.
- Work Environment: 40 hours per week, permanent work term.
- Language: English.
