Patient Care Specialist

About the RoleThis position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will have the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients.
Responsibilities- Practice nursing care according to established standards, policies, and procedures
- Recognize and fulfill professional responsibilities by practicing within the scope of practice of the Licensed Practical Nurses Act, provincial and federal legislation, and within the guidelines of professional ethics
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Active practicing licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM) or eligibility for active practicing licensure
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Training as delineated in Prairie Mountain Health Policy PPG-00002 CPR Training
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Provider (P) and Renewal (R)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Provider and Recertification
- Candidate Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS)
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work independently
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
- Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures in a changing environment
- Demonstrated knowledge and competence of skills and concepts related to the position
- Demonstrated communication skills
- Ability to respect and promote confidentiality
- Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis
- Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
- Ability to work effectively and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, clients, and within interdisciplinary teams
We offer a competitive salary range of $$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, you may be eligible for an annual full-time incentive of up to $2,000 each year until 2024 as per MOU #31 of the current MNU Collective Agreement.
