Job Title: Law Clerk

RSM LAW PROFESSIONAL CORPORATION is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Law Clerk to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Law Clerk will provide administrative support to our lawyers and staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our law office. This is a permanent, full-time position with a 40-hour workweek.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Support: Advise clients on legal proceedings, assemble documentary evidence, and handle probate to certify the validity of a will.
  • Administrative Tasks: Co-ordinate administrative services, perform clerical duties, and maintain filing systems.
  • Legal Document Preparation: Draft contracts, prepare promissory notes, and draw up wills, mortgages, and other legal documents.
  • Court Support: Represent clients before administrative tribunals and boards, issue subpoenas, summonses, and warrants, and administer oaths and take affidavits and depositions.
  • Communication: Interview clients, witnesses, and other related parties, and draft legal correspondence.
Requirements:
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
Work Environment:

This is a permanent, full-time position with a 40-hour workweek. The work language is English.
